To demonstrate further the awesome power of the Fenix TK70 LED torch, we went out yesterday evening along the banks of the river Lee.

The river banks are ideal for giving a good sense of depth and the distance at which the light can travel. There are also enough details along the river to demonstrate the brightness of the light.

There was a bit of fog and the pictures are not has clear as they could have otherwise been.

The pictures were carefully taken to reflect accurately what the naked eye actually sees in reality. (the pictures are taken at maximum power: 2200 Lumen)

The light delivered by the TK70 is truly awesome. The TK70 is rated at 720m beam throw (ANSI spec).  In the ANSI standard, beam distance is described as the distance from the device at which the light beam is 0.25 lux. 0.25 lux is approximately the equivalent of the light emitted from the full moon “on a clear night in an open field”.

In the picture, the light is travelling well into the bend of the river which is a good 400 yards away.

The 2200 lumens delivered by the TK70 make scanning a wide area very easy and fast and gives you the extra confidence that you will not miss any details in the landscape.
In our next outing, we will test the functionality of the TK70.
