We’ve been hearing recently that farm incomes in Ireland are up 27% year on year between 2010 and 2011. This is excellent news, especially coming at a time when most of the news we hear is negative.  Sometimes people think the farming community have it easy, and talk of grants and subsidies are thrown about as reasons as to why this is the case.  It is often forgotten however that farming for the most part is very much a 365 days a year job, and very much not a 9 to 5 job.  This is especially the case at present as they head into the very busy calving season, and the lambing season is not that far away.  Whether it’s calving or lambing, this is a critical time for farmers because the security and safety of the offspring is vital for the future survival and success of these farmers.  An indication of the importance of ensuring this safety and security, is that farmers have invested in technology such as close circuit cameras and wireless transmission from calving house to farmhouse to mitigate against the risks.

Another piece of equipment that is essential in assisting the farmer in his nighttime duties around the farm – scheduling of births to daytime hours is still an aspiration – is a good quality, reliable, compact yet powerful hand torch.  The Fenix TK35 from LED Powerhouse  ticks all the boxes, with 8oo+ lumens maximum output and the latest CREE LED technology inside. The carefuly designed optical system allows for a balance of flood and focus light allowing this LED flashlight to throw a beam of piercing light as far as 364yrds (333m), allowing the farmer to pan over a wide area and also highlight specific areas. Have a look at this brief video clip which gives a small illustration of the power.

LED Powerhouse have many other torches in the range, all of which can be seen complete with detailed specifications on http://ledpowerhouse.com We can also be contacted by phone on 021-2348205 or email info(at)ledpowerhouse.com.
